Yet again a professional theologian or many, using the Enoch supposed papers of the past, has sought to make a name for him or herself by pontificating some extrapolation of the Bible that is just not there, and , as in the world of science, because the theology appears new (or old) etc, the rest of the theological world has said "Yes, yes, it must be so." So , in Genesis 6 verse 1 to 4 we have the following "And it came to pass when men began to multiply on the face of the earth and daughters were born unto them. Then the sons of God saw the daughters of men and saw that they were fair; and they took them wives of all which they chose. And the Lord said, "My spirit shall not always strive with man for that he also is flesh; yet his days shall be one hundred and twenty years." There were giants in the earth in those days; and the sons of God came into the daughters of men and they have children to them, the same became mighty men which were of old, men of renown."
What this means is that those who were obedient to God started to mingle with those who were not obedient to God and therefore lost their true way.
This has been changed in concept to claim that the term 'sons of God' are really fallen angels (This has no scriptural backing at all as only those obedient to God can be defined as sons of God) and the 'daughters of men' are any female of human source. Therefore for the term 'sons of God' to refer to fallen angels we have a difficulty. Nowhere here does God make any complaint that the angels have had sex with humans although this clearly was not in His plan in the first place. Surely, He would have passed some comment yet there is no threatening of the chains leading to the neither gloom or anything.
(Jude 1, 6) " And the angels which kept not their first estate but left their own habitation, He has reserved in everlasting chains under darkness unto the judgement of the great day." No talking of mating with humans here then. Also the term 'sons of' refers to the god of which the sons are the sons thereof and fallen angels are not the sons of God but are the sons of the Devil. The whole concept of deceit of the male by the female (remember Adam and Eve) runs as a theme throughout the Bible (and real life actually) showing that the male is so easily led by the female. That was why the people of Israel were told to only marry those of their own race. Of course they did not obey here either.
(Exodus 34, 16) " And they take of their daughters unto your sons and their daughters go a whoring after their gods and make your sons go a whoring after their gods. "
Again, the concept of an angel mating with a human to produce children is completely against the whole concept of creation. This is the part of scripture that destroys the theory of evolution and one that evolutionists would love to refute but can not get over, scientifically.
(Genesis 1, 21) "And God created great whales and every living creature that moves which the waters brought forth abundantly, after their kind and every winged fowl after his kind; and God saw that it was good." Now this comment, "after their kind" applies to every living thing (animal and vegetable) and cannot be scientifically disproved, despite the fact that evolution requires to be so. So angels, who are not of the human kind, cannot breed with humans and produce offspring!
So let us look without passion at the reality of what the Bible does tell us. Perhaps the words of Jesus himself would be a good place to start.
(Mark 12, 18 - 24) "Then came unto him the Sadducees which say there is no resurrection, and they asked him saying,' Master, Moses wrote unto us ,' if a man's brother die and leave his wife behind him and leave no children, that his brother should take his wife and raise up seed unto his brother. Now there were seven brothers; and the first took a wife and left no seed. And the second took her and died . and left no seed; and the third also. And the seven had her and left no seed. Lastly the woman died also. In the resurrection therefore, when they shall rise, whose wife shall she be of them? For they all had her as wife.' And Jesus answering said unto them . ' Do you not therefore err, because you know not the scripture neither the power of God. For when they are risen from the dead, they neither marry nor are given in marriage; but are as ANGELS IN HEAVEN.'"
(Matthew 22, 30) 'For in the resurrection they neither marry nor are given in marriage but are as the angels of God in heaven.'
(Luke 20, 36) Neither can they die any more, for they are equal unto the angels, and are the children of God, being the children of the resurrection.'
Here is the first clue as to the eternal life of the angels, and every one else that resides in the universe where there is no time and therefore no change of physical state there. They exist for ever in a universe where there is no change of physical state. Living or dying, as we understand the meaning of those terms, do not apply but they all exist in the 'NOW' There is no end to their existence as we understand existence when we are physically born, live and then die and rot away.
Perhaps now is the moment in this discourse to consider the difference between our universe and the one that we shall call "eternity" or "heaven".
Our universe runs on the concept of a constant change of physical state of one or more atoms therein. For example, your body is in a state of constant physical change. Eyes see the light from the world outside that comes at light speed , due to a change of physical state of the fibres that connect your eyes to the brain, again at light speed of course, the message is transferred to the brain which interrelates the messages into what you see. At the same moment, your ears are hearing, again due to a change of physical state of the affected body cells, and changes a battering on your ear drums into a noise that you can understand. All this time your nails are growing, little bit agreed but changing nevertheless and your skin is shedding, your hair is growing, your bladder is filling, your stomach is emptying and so on and so on. There is not a practical moment of time when at least one of the cells in your body is not undergoing a Change Of Physical State, or COPS for short. Time therefore is a method of accounting for these COPS to have occurred and that is all it is. Gottfried W. Leibniz, who along with Newton thought of the Calculus, wrote that ' time was invented to help humans order the succession of events' and how right he was. Therefore we can safely say that we are doing TIME because of the COPS!
So all over our universe, there are changes of physical state occurring as it is this constant changing of physical state that keeps our universe working as it does.
However, in the Eternal universe there is no change of physical state, because there is no physical anyway, and therefore no time. Thus we are told (Hebrews 13, 8) "Jesus Christ, the same yesterday, today and for ever." and (Philippians 2, 5 - 11) "Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus who, being the form of God thought it not robbery to be equal to God. But made himself of no reputation and took upon him the form of a servant and was made in the likeness of men. And being found in fashion as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient unto death, even death of the cross. Wherefore God, also has highly exalted Him and given Him a name that is above every name: that at the name of Jesus every knee shall bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth. And that every tongue shall confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father."
This also confirms that it was the Holy Spirit that completed the miracles (as He did at the time of Pentecost etc), in order to glorify the name of Jesus when he was here.
And, as we have already seen, those in the resurrection do not die any more. Thus the beings that dwell in the Eternal universe must be spirit beings.
(Hebrews 1, 7) "And to the angels he said "Who makes his angles spirits, and his ministers flame of fire."
There are perhaps at least two problems for us in the COPS universe. 1 How can we, do we comprehend life without end? and 2, To look into the Eternal universe and not see sex, neither male nor female?
Number 1 is for each individual to work out because that is what the Bible tells us and as we have no other source of information on the subject, that is what it is . Understand, they are not living as we understand it for to be living we must also allow for the aspect of dying. Therefore they exist or dwell in that universe, dwelling in the NOW. You see, we have a past, after the COPS have occurred and we have a future, when further COPS will occur but they have only this moment. Thus we can say "I was" (as in the past) and "I will be" (as in the future) but they can only say "I am" because they are in the present all the time. What it is like to be in the present is very difficult for us who have never experience such a state to comprehend.
Number 2. The problem with a universe without male and female, every being there must be an IT, to our understanding. Obviously the concept of Sons of God must be a neutral concept. (Romans 8, 14) "For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the Sons of God". Obviously this is a gender neutral concept as the sons will mean that the sex of those led by the Spirit of God included male and female, and the term 'many' is also gender inclusive.
(1 Samuel 16, 7) 'But the Lord said unto Samuel, "Look not on his countenance, or on the height of his stature; because I have refused him.; for the Lord seeks not as a man seeks; for man looks on the outward appearance, but the Lord looks on the heart"'
(Galatians 3, 8) "There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for you are all one in Christ Jesus."
(Exodus 3, 13 - 14.) "and Moses said unto God, Behold when I come unto the children of Israel and say unto them, 'The God of your fathers has sent me unto you ; and they shall say to me, What is His name? what shall I say unto them? And God said unto Moses, I am that I am; and he said , thus shall you say to the children of Israel, I am has sent me unto you."
And just to push the point
(John 8, 57 - 59) "Then said the Jews unto him, 'You are not yet fifty years old, and have you seen Abraham?' And Jesus said unto them, 'Truly, truly, I say unto you, before Abraham was, I am' Then took they stones to throw at him, but Jesus hid himself and went out the Temple, going through the midst of them and passed by."
So the angles, from the Eternal universe, not only do not produce children but will not have the tools of the trade to produce them in any case. Thus the whole concept of angels breeding with humans is preposterous.
To conclude, the concept of the comment "sons of God" (being fallen angels) marrying the daughters of men" (being just any old female) must be faulted on various fronts.
1. The term sons of God must refer to those who are obedient to God and therefore not the fallen angels who are sons of the Devil.
2. The term sons of God must be gender neutral as it includes both male and female when applied to humans.
3. Therefore Genesis 6 means those who were faithful to God (and therefore sons of God) and those who were following another persuasion (daughters of men)'. The use of the words sons and daughters is to differentiate between two types of people and not male and female humans.
4. Scripture tells us that angels can not interbreed with humans as they are not of the same kind. Of course the Devil delights in changing the words of the creation, " that of each kind bringing forth only its own kind" and seeking to allow the suspicion that change might just occur between kinds, a concept which comes from his Theory of Evolution and that it so desperately requires.
5 Scripture tells us that in the Eternal universe there is neither male nor female and therefore the angels do not have the tools of the trade to mate with humans and bring forth children in the first place.
(1 Corinthians 15, 42 - 44, 50 - 54) 'So also is the resurrection of the dead. It is sown in corruption ; it is raised in incorruption . It is sown in dishonour; it is raised in glory. It is sown in weakness; it is raised in power. It is sown a natural body; it is raised a spiritual body. Now this I say brethren, that flesh and blood can not inherit the kingdom of God; neither does corruption inherit incorruption. Behold I show you a mystery; we shall not all sleep but we shall all be changed. In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump; for the trump shall sound and the dead shall be raised incorruptible and we shall be changed. For this corruptible must put on incorruptible and this mortal must put on immortality. So when the corruptible shall have put on incorruptible, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written. "Death is swallowed up in victory."
6. Scripture tells us that in the Eternal universe are all those who are there are neither male nor female and at the resurrection males or females become neutral. It is here that a double false theology totally fails.
1. That we can await for many virgins in heaven (as there aren't any) or
2. That we can book up the number of wives for Eternity (as there aren't any of these either.)
7. Scripture tells us that none of the beings that dwell in the Eternal universe can die, as we understand the concept, but are forever in the now as already shown.
(Luke20, 36) 'Neither can they die any more, for they are equal unto the angels and are the children of God, being the children of the resurrection.'
(Revelation 21, verse 4) "And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things have passed away."
For those who hold to the false theology from the Book of Enoch that the sons of God are fallen angels and they produce a super race of humans, giants which were mighty men of old, men of renown , you should consider that this theology has the hand of the Devil in it as it confuses the reader and destroys the word of God. We are well aware of his methods for even at the temptation of Jesus, the Devil misquotes and misapplies scripture as he always does for he can not stand the truth.
(Acts 13, 8 - 10) 'But Elymas the sorcerer (for so is his name by interpretation) with-stood them, seeking to turn away the deputy from the faith. Then Saul ( who is also called Paul) filled with the Holy Spirit, set his eyes on him and said, "O full of all subtlety, and all mischief, thou child of the devil, thou enemy of all righteousness, will you not cease to pervert the right ways of the Lord?" If the followers of the Devil do this, will not their master do more?
Perhaps the words of Jesus should give you cause to think.
"Do you not therefore err, because you know not the scripture neither the power of God."
